Impulse Embedded and Firefly Unveil High‑Performance Edge AI Boxes for Industry
Impulse Embedded Ltd, a UK industrial‑computing provider, announced the AAEON BOXER-6648-ARS series. The fanless embedded computers are built on Intel Core Ultra processors with up to 24 cores and up to 36 TOPS of AI inference. Configurations include H810 and Q870 chipsets, triple LAN (two 2.5 GbE ports and one 1 GbE), up to 96 GB DDR5 memory, M.2 NVMe storage and extensive serial I/O for machine‑vision and automation deployments. The platform supports Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, Windows 11 Pro and Ubuntu Linux, and features TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot and remote‑management capabilities.
Firefly introduced the AIBOX-9075 Edge AI box, powered by Qualcomm’s DragonWing IQ‑9075 SoC. It delivers up to 200 TOPS of AI performance, 36 GB LPDDR5 ECC memory, 128 GB UFS 2.2 storage and an M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe slot. Connectivity options comprise dual 2.5 GbE with TSN, optional Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and 4G/5G cellular. The rugged aluminium enclosure operates from –40 °C to 85 °C and offers eight GMSL2 camera inputs, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0, CAN‑FD, RS‑485 and opto‑isolated digital I/O. The box runs Ubuntu or Yocto Linux and supports major AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and ONNX.
Both devices target industrial edge applications such as AI‑powered vision, robotics, private LLM deployment and remote monitoring, offering high compute density in fan‑less, temperature‑tolerant enclosures.
