Impulse Space secures $308 million for orbital logistics
Impulse Space has secured a $308 million extension to its Series D financing round, bringing the total Series D funding to $808 million. The capital is intended to fund platform engineering, the fabrication of orbital vehicles, and corporate expansion to meet increasing commercial and government launch demands.
The funds will support the development of the company’s orbital vehicle family, including the Mira orbital transfer vehicle and the high-impulse Helios upper stage. Additionally, the company is scaling production of Electra, an electric propulsion system designed for satellite maneuvers and orbital maintenance.
To manage this expansion, Impulse Space has appointed Adam Townsend as its first Chief Financial Officer. The company’s recent technical milestones include a proximity flight campaign involving its LEO-2 and LEO-3 Mira vehicles. On the defense side, the firm has secured a $28 million contract extension from the U.S. Space Force for responsive space missions and has been selected for the National Security Space Launch program.
