Impureza releases bass playthrough for ‘Covadonga’

The Franco-Spanish metal band Impureza has released a bass playthrough video for the song ‘Covadonga’ via the Season of Mist YouTube channel. The video highlights the fretless bass work of Florian Saillard.

The track is featured on the band’s third album, Alcázares, which was released on July 11, 2025. The album is a concept work centered on the Reconquista, a medieval conflict spanning from 722 to 1492. ‘Covadonga’ specifically recounts the battle in Asturias involving King Don Pelayo and Muslim forces, incorporating elements of flamenco guitar and orchestral arrangements.

Impureza is recognized as a pioneer of ‘Hispanic Metal,’ a genre that fuses extreme metal with Spanish sounds inspired by Andalusian culture.
