Imrali Committee discusses new disarmament board

Members of the Imrali Committee, including DEM Party MP Pervin Buldan and lawyer Faik Özgür Erol, have met to discuss developments regarding Abdullah Öcalan. Reports indicate that a “Disarmament and Politicization Board” is being formed, with a scheduled first meeting on August 24 to determine sub-committee members.

During a meeting in Istanbul, lawyer Faik Özgür Erol expressed disappointment regarding the lack of intellectual support for efforts to end the conflict. He noted that efforts to resolve the long-standing war environment have faced significant skepticism and limited engagement from various sectors of society.
