Imran Masood urges ASI to review mosque records in Saharanpur
Congress MP Imran Masood has responded to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) visit to Saharanpur, stating that historical records of the mosque should clarify the site's status. Masood noted that mosques traditionally contained wells for ablution, which could be over 300 years old, and urged an examination of the mosque's documentation.
In related political commentary, Masood addressed the BJP's use of the Ram Mandir issue in the 2024 elections and commented on the West Bengal government's decision to close liquor shops during Ashtami. Additionally, Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi criticized the current political climate in Uttar Pradesh, accusing leaders of using religious divisions for electoral gain rather than focusing on development.
