Imserso tourism program launches 2026-2027 season with 879,213 places
The Spanish Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and 2030 Agenda has announced the 2026-2027 Imserso tourism program season. Sales are scheduled to begin on September 14, 2026, with the first trips departing on October 1 to Oropesa. The program offers a total of 879,213 places, distributed among coastal destinations (50.1%), island destinations (25.9%), and excursion tourism including cultural circuits and nature trips (23.9%).
A key feature of the program is the 50-euro flat rate for low-income pensioners, which has seen significant success. In its first year, this measure increased access for low-income users tenfold, from 523 to 5,221 travelers. For the upcoming season, 7,447 places have been reserved at this rate. Additionally, the program continues to allow pensioners to travel with companion animals.
Demand for the program is at a record high. With 4,602,255 accredited individuals competing for 879,213 places, there is an average of 5.23 people per available spot. To manage this pressure and prevent booking system collapses, the ministry will implement a staggered sales process: from September 14 to 18, applicants may only reserve trips within their assigned provincial quota. From September 19, any remaining unbooked trips from any province will become available to all.
Accreditation letters have been sent to over 4.6 million people. Users who have not received their letters can verify their status or obtain their four-digit reservation code via the Imserso electronic office or by contacting their customer service line.
