Imserso travel bookings begin for pensioners in Galicia

The booking period for the Imserso Social Tourism program has commenced in Galicia, Spain, offering travel packages for pensioners to various coastal, island, and inland destinations. In the province of Ourense, approximately 8,924 places have been made available for 97,025 eligible seniors, resulting in a ratio of roughly one spot for every ten people. The reservation process follows a priority system based on age, economic status, and disability, with preferential users beginning bookings on Monday and others following on Tuesday.

In the municipality of Valga, local authorities have implemented a specialized support initiative to assist elderly residents facing the digital divide. Following the termination of a previous agreement between the Ministry of Social Rights and Consumption and the local council, Valga has partnered with the agency Galaica Tours. Agency professionals are stationed at the town hall to provide in-person assistance for selecting destinations and managing contracts, ensuring that those who struggle with internet-based procedures can still access the program.
