IMSS-Bienestar provides free ambulance transfers in Sinaloa
In Guamúchil, Sinaloa, IMSS-Bienestar has established collaboration agreements with the Red Cross to provide free ambulance transfer services for patients. This initiative addresses the lack of a General Hospital in Guamúchil and facilitates the movement of patients from Mocorito and Angostura to the state capital or other municipalities.
According to Luis Víctor Velazco Zayas, Director of the Urban Health Center in Guamúchil, the process is managed through hospital social work departments in coordination with the Culiacán Medical Urgency Regulation Center. The service provides appropriately equipped ambulances based on the patient's severity, with all costs covered by IMSS-Bienestar. The process typically takes between 10 and 60 minutes, depending on hospital availability and ambulance dispatch.
