Regional health services expand through new equipment and infrastructure

Various regional governments in Argentina and Mexico are implementing health infrastructure and service improvements. In Argentina, Santa Fe is adding 103 new ambulances to its emergency system, while Paraná has received four ambulances and motorcycles donated by the Salto Grande Commission Technical Mixed Delegation. Local municipalities like Lanús, Maipú, and Arroyito are launching community-based programs, including the PASA health access initiative and free vision services providing eyeglasses to children and vulnerable populations.

In Mexico, the IMSS is strengthening its services in Puebla with eight new ambulances to improve patient transfers. Additionally, the ISSSTE is investing 300 million pesos to renovate the Vasco de Quiroga hospital in Michoacán, which will expand capacity with new operating rooms and a blood bank. In Playa del Carmen, local authorities report a 300 percent increase in prehospital emergency services due to expanded personnel and equipment.
