The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) reported that construction of a new hemodialysis ward at Hospital General de Subzona No. 7 in La Piedad, Michoacán, is 95 % complete. The 472.6‑square‑meter facility will house ten dialysis machines, a nephrology office, nutrition and patient‑stabilization areas, and supporting amenities.
IMSS regional director Dr. José Miguel Ángel Van‑Dick Puga highlighted that the project was realized through coordinated effort among the institute, municipal authorities and private partner Grupo Nu3. He said the new unit will bring specialized kidney‑treatment services closer to residents, reducing the need to travel to other municipalities and improving continuity and safety of care for chronic renal patients in the Bajío region.
