IMSS to begin construction of childcare centers in State of Mexico

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) is set to begin construction on several Child Education and Care Centers (CECI) as part of a broader health infrastructure strategy in the State of Mexico.

Construction for the first four centers in Chalco, Nezahualcóyotl, Tlalnepantla, and Valle de Chalco is scheduled to start in September. This will be followed by three additional centers in Chicoloapan, Ixtapaluca, and Texcoco starting in October.

IMSS Director General Zoé Robledo Aburto stated that this new model is intended to replace traditional daycare schemes with an integral approach focused on the development and well-being of children. These projects are part of the Integral Plan for the Eastern Zone of the State of Mexico, a collaborative effort between the federal and state governments to improve health services and infrastructure for approximately 10 million residents.
