Imtiaz Ali and Anurag Kashyap debut short film 'Bobby Beauty Parlour

Filmmakers Imtiaz Ali and Anurag Kashyap have teamed up to present the coming‑of‑age short film “Bobby Beauty Parlour”. Directed by Shashwat Dwivedi, the story follows childhood friends Eelu and Manu as they spend a final afternoon together inside a neighbourhood beauty parlour, drinking, napping, arguing and trying to hold onto a fleeting moment of youth.

The film stars Adrija Sinha, Parul Rana, Saksham Raj and Preeti Kochar. It is produced by Janhavi Asthana, who also co‑writes and shoots the film, alongside Ranjan Singh and Kashyap. “Bobby Beauty Parlour” will premiere at midnight on 6 August on the Oh Short Flips YouTube channel as part of Friendship Week. Ali said the film reminded him of his own small hometown and adolescent choices, while Kashyap described it as a simple, heartfelt story about friendship, aspirations and growing up. This collaboration marks the first joint project for the two directors, whose friendship dates back to their university days in Delhi.
