Imtiaz Ali's film *Main Vaapas Aaunga*, a Partition‑era drama starring Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh and Dolly Ahluwalia, has resonated with Indian audiences three weeks after its theatrical release. The story follows 95‑year‑old Ishar Singh Grewal as he reflects on the personal and cultural losses caused by the 1947 division of Punjab and Bengal.

The movie opened with a modest Rs 1.15 crore on day one, but its worldwide gross has risen to about Rs 84.40 crore.
