South Korean midfielder Hwang In-beom joins FC Porto

South Korean international midfielder Hwang In‑beom completed his transfer from Feyenoord to Portuguese champions FC Porto. He arrived in Porto on 20 July, underwent a medical examination and signed a three‑year contract with an option for a fourth season. The club disclosed a transfer fee of roughly €4.5‑5 million, with possible performance add‑ons.

Hwang, 29, expressed enthusiasm, calling Porto “one of the best clubs in the world” and pledging to give “everything on the pitch.” He noted the pressure inherent in a winning‑oriented environment and highlighted the role of coach Francesco Farioli in his decision. The move makes him the second South Korean in Portugal’s top division and follows a career that has taken him through clubs in South Korea, the United States, Russia, Greece, Serbia and the Netherlands.

FC Porto, a 31‑time league champion, aims to defend its title and sees Hwang’s arrival as a boost to its midfield strength.
