In-N-Out sued by former employee over religious discrimination claims

A former In-N-Out employee, Arianna Rodriguez, has filed a civil complaint in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleging religious discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.

Rodriguez, who worked as a cook at the Long Beach, California, location since 2021, claims that her religious accommodation to have Sundays off for church services was initially granted but later revoked following a change in management in 2025. According to the filing, the request for religious observance became a recurring source of workplace conflict, leading to her being written up after the new manager learned of her religious affiliation.

The dispute escalated in June 2025, when Rodriguez alleges she was suspended for handling food she believed to be waste. Following an internal investigation, she claims she was fired on July 3. The lawsuit alleges that the company failed to provide reasonable religious accommodations and created a hostile work environment.
