Inaê Soto40 finishes fifth in the 76th Santos-Rio Regatta

The Inaê Soto40, commanded by Bayard Umbuzeiro Neto, completed the 76th Santos-Rio Regatta on Saturday, arriving at Ilha Rasa in Rio de Janeiro. The vessel finished fifth among the boats that crossed the finish line.

The race, which began on Thursday in Santos, served as the opening for the 2026 Brazilian Ocean Championship. Crews faced challenging meteorological conditions, including headwinds and wind gusts reaching up to 35 knots. The competition was further complicated by a period of calm during the early morning hours, which slowed progress and increased the time spent at sea.

Commander Bayard Neto noted that the race required significant strategy and physical endurance. Despite not being among the top finishers, Neto expressed satisfaction with the team's ability to execute their planned strategy. The team is now preparing for the Circuito Rio as part of their ongoing competition schedule.
