Indonesia prepares for major 2026 trade and tech expos
Indonesia is preparing for several major economic and technological events in late 2026. The 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), scheduled for October 14–18 at ICE BSD City, will feature 1,873 companies across five zones, including a Strategic Industry Pavilion showcasing defense, aerospace, and electric vehicle technologies. Buyers from 134 countries have registered, with the highest participation from India, China, and Malaysia.
In the digital sector, Bali Tech Week (BTW) 2026 will take place from October 19–23. Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated the event aims to boost investment in Indonesia’s digital economy, which reached a GMV of US$99 billion in 2025, by connecting domestic developers with international investors.
Other notable developments include the Indonesia Innovation Summit & Expo (IISE) 2026 in December, where the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) aims to secure 100 technology licenses. Meanwhile, the Rock In Solo 2026 music festival has been postponed due to social, economic, and environmental concerns, including natural disasters and forest fires. Additionally, the Ministry of Communication and Digital has identified 22 high-risk digital products and services regarding child protection, mandating stricter mitigation measures for electronic system providers.
