Inagh-Kilnamona wins first Clare Senior Hurling title

Inagh-Kilnamona secured their first-ever Clare Senior Hurling Championship title with a 2-18 to 1-14 victory over Kilmaley at Zimmer Biomet Páirc Chiosóg in Ennis. The win marks a historic milestone for the club, which was founded in 2008 following an amalgamation, ending years of near-misses including a final loss in 2021.

The match was a tense affair, with Kilmaley leading early after a goal from Sean O’Loughlin. However, Inagh-Kilnamona responded, highlighted by a goal from Aidan McCarthy. After the teams were level at 1-12 apiece entering the final ten minutes, Inagh-Kilnamona pulled away with a decisive scoring run. A late goal from Fred Hegarty in stoppage time sealed the victory.

David Fitzgerald was named man-of-the-match for his performance, contributing five points from play, including a long-range effort from his own half.
