INAIL unveils 2027 safety contribution model and scholarship for students of work‑injury victims

INAIL has published the new Model OT23 for 2027, allowing companies that carry out additional safety and health interventions in 2026 to request a reduction of the average contribution rate. Eligible firms must be up‑to‑date with contributions, comply with occupational safety regulations and have implemented at least one type‑A or two type‑B interventions. Applications are submitted online by 28 February 2027. The model introduces new interventions (D‑5 training, F‑10 fire‑proof installations, E‑10 near‑miss management) and offers rate reductions ranging from 28 % for the smallest firms to lower percentages for larger ones.

In parallel, INAIL issued Circular No. 31 (23 June 2026) establishing a continuous scholarship for students who are survivors of a parent who died from a work accident or occupational disease. Effective 1 January 2026, the grant is tax‑free, cumulative with other benefits and amounts to €3,000 for primary and lower secondary education, €5,000 for upper secondary and vocational training, and €7,000 for university or higher artistic‑musical studies. Eligibility extends to Italian and EU institutions and covers students up to 26 years of age depending on the study level.
