INAPA announces water service interruption in Barahona
The National Institute of Potable Water and Sewerage (INAPA) has announced a temporary interruption of potable water services in several sectors of Villa Central and the upper parts of Barahona, Dominican Republic.
The outage was caused by an electrical failure at the Cobo pumping station, specifically a burnt control panel circuit board. Elson Peña, the regional director of INAPA and ASURO in Barahona, stated that the damage has rendered the station inoperable.
Affected areas include Los Maestros, Altos de Blanquizales, Los Guadules, La Raqueta, the upper part of Palmarito, Invicеa, Villa Olímpica, La Montañita, and Los Block. Service is expected to be restored during the first days of next week once repairs to the electrical panel are completed.
