Inarcassa reports strong financial stability in 2024 audit
The Corte dei Conti has approved its report on the 2024 management of Inarcassa, the national social security and assistance fund for freelance engineers and architects. The report describes a “generally positive picture and significant financial solidity,” noting that the fiscal year closed with a surplus of 1,357 million euros.
Net equity grew by 9.5%, exceeding legal minimums, while asset management yielded a 7.68% return, surpassing expectations. Despite this favorable assessment, auditors issued recommendations to maintain long-term stability. Key concerns include a declining demographic ratio between active members and retirees, which has fallen to 3.6.
Actuarial projections suggest potential financial challenges between 2048 and 2066. Additionally, the Court advised increased focus on recovering credits from members, which rose to 1,545 million euros in 2024, to prevent prescription issues. Ongoing discussions with supervisory ministries are also underway regarding the revaluation mechanism for contribution amounts.
