INATRO headquarters in Maputo closed amid security guard dispute

The headquarters of the National Institute of Road Transport (INATRO) in Maputo has been closed following a protest by security guards from General Security, Limitada. The guards, who were contracted in April 2026, blocked access to the facilities to demand unpaid wages.

INATRO has confirmed the closure but denies owing any debt to the security firm. The institute stated that during a meeting convened for clarification, managers from General Security, Limitada confirmed that INATRO has fulfilled its contractual obligations. The institute expressed regret over the incident and is working with the contracted company to prevent future occurrences.
