inBiot’s MICA monitor leads AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge categories

The MICA indoor air quality monitor, developed by the Spanish company inBiot, has achieved the highest scores in all three indoor air categories of the 5th AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge. Organized by Airparif, the independent evaluation assessed 47 different models from Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa.

MICA received scores of 4.60 out of 5 in piloting, 4.35 in awareness, and 4.30 in monitoring, outperforming 12 other devices from manufacturers in France, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Romania, and Thailand. The device also earned the highest utility score across these categories and placed second in the new subway station category.

The testing was conducted at Airparif’s metrology laboratory in Paris using real-volume exposure testing. To ensure accuracy and reproducibility, three units of each model were evaluated under controlled scenarios involving common pollutants such as cooking, candles, incense, cleaning products, and tobacco smoke.
