Incan hospital operates at 70% capacity after severe storm damage
The National Cancer Institute (Incan) hospital in Areguá is operating at 70% capacity following severe infrastructure damage caused by a major storm on Saturday night. The weather event, which included heavy rain, hail, and strong winds, resulted in roofs being blown off the admissions sector and the destruction of glass doors and windows.
Medical Director Rodrigo Alfonso reported that approximately 24 patients had to be relocated within the facility due to the damage. While the hospital is utilizing backup generators to maintain critical areas, the institution has activated a contingency plan. No serious injuries to patients or staff were reported during the incident.
