Inces certifies first cohort of young barbers and stylists

The National Institute of Socialist Training and Education (Inces) has issued certificates to its first cohort of young barbers and stylists. The graduation ceremony took place on August 12 at La Casona de Eleazar López Contreras.

Inces President Wuikelman Ángel Paredes noted that the certifications include a QR code to allow for immediate digital validation of authenticity and carry international recognition. The program, held in coordination with the Ministry of Popular Power for Youth and the Emprender Juntos movement, aims to expand technical training nationwide.

Officials emphasized a shift in terminology from ‘trades’ to ‘occupations’ to dignify various forms of productive labor. The institution reported that many participants are university students seeking to complement their academic studies with practical technical skills.
