Incheon adjusts bus routes and expands transit for new housing districts

Incheon Metropolitan City and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) are implementing significant changes to public transportation networks to improve connectivity and service efficiency.

Incheon City has decided to adjust 20 bus routes, effective October 24. Key changes include the discontinuation of the e-Eum 12 route due to low ridership and profitability. The vehicles from this route will be redistributed to the e-Eum 11 and e-Eum 84 routes, which will see increased frequency and extended service areas. Additionally, routes serving the Yeongjong area will be adjusted to better reflect changes at Incheon International Airport terminals.

Simultaneously, LH is expanding the transportation network for the Incheon Gyeyang Public Housing District ahead of its first residents moving in this December. A new bus route, 7701, is scheduled to launch in October, connecting Jakjeon Station to Gyeyang Station to facilitate transfers to the Airport Railroad and Seoul Subway Line 1. LH is also pursuing a new M-Bus route to connect the district to the Gangnam area and is considering long-term infrastructure such as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems.
