Incheon City and Incheon Customs to combat unfair import practices

Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Regional Customs Office will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 24 to protect local manufacturing industries and establish fair market order. The partnership aims to jointly respond to unfair import activities, such as mislabeling imported goods as domestic products, underreporting import prices, and evading import requirements.

Under the agreement, Incheon City will provide data regarding local manufacturing industries and the status of regional enterprises. The Incheon Regional Customs Office will utilize its expertise in customs clearance and enforcement to conduct risk analysis and field inspections. The two entities plan to collaborate on identifying high-risk items, planning enforcement actions, and providing technical consultation for industrial product identification.

This cooperation seeks to protect small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the region, particularly those in core or declining industries, by creating a more competitive and fair environment.
