Incheon City commemorates 76th anniversary of Incheon Landing Operation

Incheon City held a commemorative event to mark the 76th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation. The ceremony, held on September 15, included a wreath-laying at the statue of General Douglas MacArthur in Jayu Park and a main ceremony at the Sangsang Platform.

Approximately 1,000 people attended the event, including veterans, bereaved families, citizens, and officials such as the Mayor of Incheon, Park Chan-dae, and the Commandant of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. The program featured performances by the Marine Corps band and honor guard, a musical reenactment of the landing operation, and a peace experience zone for citizens.

Mayor Park Chan-dae emphasized the historical significance of the operation, describing Incheon as a “miraculous stage that changed the course of South Korean history and a guardian of freedom and peace.” He pledged to continue providing honor and support for veterans while striving for peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.
