Incheon City expands global tech collaboration for local startups

Incheon Metropolitan City is expanding its ‘I-Startup Unicorn Dream’ project, which connects local startups with global big tech companies to facilitate international market entry. Managed by Incheon Techno Park, the initiative matches seven promising local companies with major firms including IBM, Ansys, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Siemens to provide technical infrastructure, expert consulting, and solution integration.

Key participants are already seeing results through overseas Proof of Concept (PoC) projects and technical collaborations. For instance, IDCITI, a company specializing in ‘uGPS’ technology for precise positioning in GPS-denied environments like tunnels, is conducting PoC activities in Singapore and the Czech Republic with support from IBM’s cloud and data analytics. IDCITI is also discussing demonstration projects for indoor navigation in Singapore and Thailand, as well as GPS systems for tunnels in Tokyo, Japan, slated for early 2027.

Additionally, the fine dust measurement solution firm On&I is utilizing Ansys’s computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation technology to advance its technical capabilities. Incheon City plans to continue providing follow-up support to increase the commercialization potential of these startups and expand their global sales channels through established international networks.
