Incheon City to build Physical AI Demonstration Center
Incheon City has commenced a project to establish the Incheon Physical AI Demonstration Center to support the integration of artificial intelligence with physical devices like robots and sensors in industrial settings. Located within the Incheon Global Campus, the center aims to facilitate technology verification and industrial application for the region’s manufacturing and logistics sectors.
The facility will be divided into two primary sections: a Mimicry Environment Demonstration Zone and a Virtual Environment Demonstration Zone. The Mimicry Zone will replicate real-world industrial environments to test autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots, and AI vision inspection equipment. The Virtual Zone will utilize high-performance GPU-based servers to allow companies to repeatedly verify AI models and algorithms in a safe, digital space, bypassing physical or safety constraints.
Incheon City plans to complete the infrastructure by April 2025, following a demand survey for simulation and virtual environment testing this month. The city intends to eventually link this center with major local infrastructures, including Incheon International Airport and Incheon Port, to create a comprehensive regional ecosystem for Physical AI development and deployment.
