Incheon female farmers hold convention in Jeju to enhance agricultural leadership
Approximately 160 members of the Life Improvement Association from 11 districts in Incheon gathered in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for the 17th Life Improvement Association One-Mind Convention. Held from the 1st to the 2nd, the event was organized by the Korea Life Improvement Association Incheon Metropolitan City Federation and supported by the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center.
The convention focused on strengthening the leadership capabilities of female farmers and fostering communication among members to address changing agricultural environments. Activities included awards for outstanding members who contributed to regional agricultural development and the rights of rural women, as well as field trips to advanced agricultural sites in Jeju.
Participants examined successful cases of the ‘6th industry’—which integrates production with processing, distribution, and tourism—to explore ways to increase the value of local agricultural products and create new income sources for Incheon farmers. The association, established in 1958, continues to work toward scientificizing rural life, practicing carbon neutrality, and improving the status of women in rural communities.
