Incheon Geomdan-gu officials inspect Wanggil-dong factory fire safety

Incheon Geomdan-gu Council member Lee Hyang-mi conducted a field inspection of the factory-dense area in Wanggil-dong to assess fire hazards and accessibility for emergency vehicles. The inspection, held alongside National Assembly member Mo Kyeong-jong and local officials, follows a major fire in October 2024 that damaged 44 businesses and 76 buildings.

Participants focused on narrow roads that hinder fire truck access and the safety management of small-scale workshops. In response, the Geomdan-gu Enterprise and Job Support Division plans to conduct administrative guidance, fire prevention training, and distribute safety posters in September. Local officials aim to translate these findings into institutional improvements and budget support for fire road enhancements and safety facility expansions.
