Incheon Gyeyang Youth Committee Conducts Policy Workshops and Mock Council

On May 5, the Incheon Gyeyang District hosted a policy‑capacity‑building workshop for its Youth Participation Committee. Participants learned about youth budget concepts, the budgeting process, and drafted project proposals to address local issues. The same day, the Gyeyang District Council held a communication meeting and mock council session, inviting the youth committee to tour the council chamber, meet Council Chair Moon Mi‑hye, and simulate council procedures. Officials said the events aim to strengthen democratic citizenship, expand youth input into district policies, and foster understanding of local governance.

District Mayor Park Hyung‑woo noted, “This workshop and council visit help young people learn about policy, budgeting, and the role of local assemblies, building their capacity as democratic citizens.” Council Chair Moon added, “It is very meaningful to welcome the youth committee in the newly opened main hall and see their earnest participation.”
