Incheon Institute seeks to improve transportation on Jangbongdo

The Incheon Institute held a policy dialogue on Jangbongdo to address transportation challenges and ensure the mobility rights of local residents. The meeting, held in Ongjin County, focused on improving regional vitality and addressing the difficulties faced by inhabitants due to the island's lack of land connections, even following the opening of the Sindo Peace Bridge.

Researchers noted that Jangbongdo faces complex constraints as a border area experiencing population decline and aircraft noise issues. Participants, including local officials and residents, discussed ways to translate community feedback into practical policies and projects. The Incheon Institute plans to incorporate resident opinions into further policy analysis and continue collaborating with Incheon City and Ongjin County to develop concrete solutions.
