Incheon implements new industrial, safety, and administrative policies

Incheon Metropolitan City is implementing several administrative and industrial initiatives. A new ordinance has been proposed to mandate the relocation and eco-friendly modernization of the used car export complex, tasking the mayor with establishing five-year development plans to address issues like traffic congestion, noise, and dust.

In local governance, the Gyeyang-gu Council has passed an ordinance to introduce vertical parking lines, a first for Incheon, aimed at improving parking safety and reducing disputes. Additionally, Mayor Park Chan-dae held the first monthly meeting for the 9th popularly elected administration, emphasizing field-centered administration, citizen trust, and the integration of AI technology into public service.

On the cultural front, the ‘Sound Planet Festival 2026’ is scheduled for September 5–6 at Paradise City, featuring approximately 70 musical acts. The city aims to link this festival with local tourism and MICE infrastructure to boost the regional economy. Meanwhile, local officials are addressing resident complaints regarding noise and delays related to construction projects, including the new city hall and the Sungin Underpass.
