Incheon launches second Festival Promotion Committee to evaluate local events

Incheon Metropolitan City has launched the second Incheon Festival Promotion Committee to enhance the competitiveness and safety management of local festivals. The committee consists of 15 members, including 14 appointed experts in culture, arts, and safety, as well as one ex-officio member. The committee is tasked with deliberating on festival discovery, promotion, evaluation, and safety policies.

As part of its initial activities, the city will conduct evaluations of eight local festivals that meet specific criteria, such as a total project cost of over 200 million won and a duration of at least two days. The evaluation process involves a two-stage method: a field evaluation conducted by pairs of committee members, followed by a comprehensive review.

Field evaluations for seven festivals, including the Sorae Pogu Festival, Bupyeong Pungmul Grand Festival, and the 1883 Jajangmyeon Festival, are scheduled to take place between October 2 and October 18. The results and improvement measures derived from these assessments will be integrated into the city's festival policies for the following year.
