Incheon launches signature campaign to host 2028 G20 Summit

Incheon Metropolitan City has launched a signature campaign to host the 2028 G20 Summit. As South Korea is set to hold the presidency in 2028, the city is actively promoting its candidacy to domestic and overseas Koreans, as well as business leaders.

The campaign is being conducted during ‘World Korean Week’ at Songdo Convensia from September 27 to October 1. This includes participation in the 24th World Korean Business Convention, which expects approximately 3,000 business participants. Incheon aims to highlight its competitive advantages, such as its proximity to Incheon International Airport, advanced convention facilities, and extensive experience in hosting international events.

To support the bid, the city has established a ‘2028 G20 Summit Incheon Bid Support TF’ consisting of four specialized divisions. Future promotional efforts will include collaborations with central government agencies, local festivals, and new media content like YouTube Shorts. If successful, the summit is expected to bring 10,000 to 15,000 visitors, including heads of state and media, and involve over 100 days of ministerial and working-level meetings.
