Incheon municipal treasuries selected for 2027–2030 term

Incheon Metropolitan City has selected Shinhan Bank to operate its primary treasury for the 2027–2030 term. The treasury, which manages general accounts, special accounts, and funds totaling approximately 14.45 trillion KRW as of the 2026 budget, has faced scrutiny regarding the selection process. Critics, including the Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice, have raised concerns over the composition of the deliberation committee, noting that all three Incheon City Council members on the committee belonged to the Democratic Party, while representatives from the People Power Party were excluded. This has led to calls for greater transparency and an audit of the selection process to ensure political neutrality.

Separately, the Geomdan-gu district in Incheon has selected Hana Bank as its preferred financial institution for the next district treasury. Following a comprehensive evaluation of proposals from Shinhan Bank and Hana Bank, Hana Bank received the highest score based on criteria including financial stability, interest rates, resident convenience, and community contribution. Upon final agreement, Hana Bank will manage Geomdan-gu’s general and special accounts, as well as various funds, from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2030.
