Incheon Port Authority hosts seminar to boost used car exports

The Incheon Port Authority (IPA), in collaboration with the KOTRA Incheon Support Center, held a seminar on September 4 to strengthen the export capabilities of used car and automotive parts companies. The event, held at Oakwood Premier Incheon, was attended by 50 local export enterprises.

Building on a previous seminar held in May regarding alternative markets in Eastern Europe and Africa following the Hormuz Strait crisis, this session focused on practical export procedures. The program included presentations on automotive parts market trends and entry strategies, the operational structures of major international used car export complexes, and foreign exchange procedures related to used car exports.

To address specific difficulties faced by exporters, the seminar featured a session led by Incheon Customs to explain practical foreign exchange processes. IPA Vice President Kim Sang-gi stated that the initiative aims to move beyond merely identifying alternative markets to solving the actual practical problems companies encounter during the export process, with the goal of recovering used car export volumes at Incheon Port.
