Incheon receives top rating in consumer policy evaluation for second year
Incheon Metropolitan City has been selected as an excellent local government after receiving the highest grade of ‘Excellent’ in the 2025 Consumer Policy Comprehensive Implementation Plan Performance Evaluation. This marks the second consecutive year the city has achieved this top rating.
The evaluation, conducted by the Consumer Policy Committee under the Prime Minister, assessed 157 tasks across 17 central administrative agencies and 17 metropolitan local governments. Incheon achieved the ‘Excellent’ rating across all four evaluated areas: consumer safety, transactions, capabilities, and damage relief/policy cooperation.
Key factors contributing to the high score included providing customized education and information based on consumer characteristics, identifying and responding to consumer issues through public-private cooperation, and strengthening safety management and education for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. The city plans to continue developing field-oriented consumer policies to protect citizen rights and adapt to changing consumption environments.
