Incheon road reopens near Coupang logistics center after fire recovery
Road traffic on Bongsu-daero near the Coupang 32 Logistics Center in Seohae-gu, Incheon, has fully resumed after 78 days of closure. The road was previously restricted due to safety concerns regarding falling exterior wall panels following a major fire at the facility on July 18.
To ensure public safety, Coupang completed required safety measures, including the installation of safety nets on the damaged building walls. Local authorities, including Seohae-gu officials and police, inspected the site and determined that the area was safe for vehicles and pedestrians.
The fire, which lasted approximately 109 hours, damaged two floors of the eight-story building and caused two firefighters to sustain injuries. While traffic has returned to normal, Seohae-gu officials stated they will continue to monitor the building's exterior condition and may temporarily restrict access again in the event of severe weather, such as typhoons.
