Son Bum-gyu indicted for alleged indecent assault of district councilor

Son Bum-gyu, a former spokesperson for the Incheon branch of the People Power Party, has been indicted without detention on charges of forcible indecent assault.

The Incheon District Prosecutors' Office recently moved the case to trial following a police investigation. Son is accused of sexually assaulting a female district councilor from the same political party at a pub in Namdong-gu, Incheon, in February 2023.

While police determined the charges were substantiated based on statements from the victim and witnesses, Son has denied the allegations, reportedly stating during investigations that he did not commit the act or that he does not remember the incident.
