Incheon Subway surpasses 3 billion cumulative passengers

Incheon Subway has surpassed 3 billion cumulative passengers since its first operation in 1999. The Incheon Transit Corporation announced on the 26th that this milestone was achieved 27 years after the system's inception.

The growth is attributed to the continuous expansion of routes and increasing ridership. Breakdown of cumulative passengers by line includes 2.32 billion for Incheon Line 1, 570 million for Incheon Line 2, and 110 million for the Incheon-operated section of Seoul Subway Line 7.

Incheon Line 1 currently operates 33 stations, connecting the north and south of the city. Incheon Line 2 operates 27 stations, linking the northwest and southeast regions. The corporation also manages 11 stations on Line 7, serving as a major commuting route to downtown Seoul.

To celebrate the milestone, the Incheon Transit Corporation is hosting customer appreciation events, including an online quiz through September 2 and in-person greetings at major stations on September 4.
