Incheon teen arrested for killing mother after argument

An 18-year-old male was arrested for the killing of his mother in an apartment in Samsan-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon. The incident occurred on the evening of July 7, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed his mother, a woman in her 40s, multiple times with a weapon found inside the home following an argument.

Following the attack, the suspect reportedly called 112 himself, leading to his arrest at the scene by responding police officers. While the victim was transported to a hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. The suspect, who had dropped out of high school and was unemployed at the time, appeared at the Incheon District Court on July 9 for a warrant substantive examination.

Police noted that they had previously responded to one or two calls regarding arguments between the mother and son, though no criminal charges were filed at those times. Authorities have requested an autopsy by the National Forensic Service and are continuing to investigate the specific motives behind the crime.
