Incheon to launch citizen academy for redevelopment and reconstruction training

Incheon Metropolitan City will operate the ‘2026 Incheon Maintenance Project Citizen Academy’ from October 12 to November 13. The program is designed to increase public understanding of redevelopment and reconstruction projects and to strengthen the professional expertise of union officials.

The academy aims to prevent resident conflicts and disputes by providing specialized knowledge on relevant laws, administrative procedures, and union management. Given that maintenance projects are closely linked to property rights and housing environments, the city emphasizes the importance of transparent management and accurate legal understanding from the early stages.

The 32-hour curriculum consists of a 4-hour central training session at Incheon City Hall and 28 hours of mobile training sessions held at various district offices, including Namdong-gu, Michuhol-gu, Bupyeong-gu, Jemulpo-gu, Gyeyang-gu, and Yeonsu-gu. Topics include recent amendments to the Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act, real estate policies, union establishment procedures, appraisal methods, and digital management tools such as electronic consent forms and online general meetings.
