Incheon Tourism Organization targets Mongolian medical tourists via new MOU

The Incheon Tourism Organization has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Creative Diamond LLC, a major Mongolian travel agency, to expand medical tourism from Mongolia to Incheon, South Korea.

Under the two-year agreement, the organization will offer customized medical tourism packages to employees of a large Mongolian coal mining company. These packages will combine health checkups at Incheon’s medical institutions with visits to major local tourist attractions. This initiative follows the opening of an Incheon medical tourism promotion office at the Korea Tourism Organization’s Ulaanbaatar branch in June.

Incheon is seeing significant growth in foreign patients, with numbers rising from 14,606 in 2023 to 26,483 in 2025. The city is focusing on a range of services, from high-value treatments for severe diseases like cancer and cardiovascular issues to aesthetic services. Notably, the number of foreign patients visiting dermatology clinics increased by 169.5% and plastic surgery by 54.7% compared to the previous year. Data indicates that Mongolian patients in Incheon have a high average credit card expenditure of 2.73 million won per person.
