Incheon Tourism Organization unveils global tourism strategy

The Incheon Tourism Organization has announced a new mid-to-long-term management strategy aimed at transforming Incheon into a global destination for stay-over tourism. During a recent interim report meeting, the organization presented four strategic directions: strengthening global competitiveness, enhancing tourism content to encourage longer stays, driving regional economic growth through tourism, and securing a foundation for sustainable growth.

To achieve these goals, the organization identified 12 key tasks, including leveraging Incheon International Airport, maritime ports, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) infrastructure. Specific initiatives involve integrating K-culture and special interest tourism (SIT), developing regional tourism resources, and innovating digital marketing through the use of data and artificial intelligence (AI).

Experts participating in discussions emphasized the need to connect tourism growth with local commercial districts and tourism enterprises. The organization plans to refine its strategic framework and specific action plans by incorporating feedback from these discussions to ensure the strategy effectively contributes to the local economy.
