Incheon United secures K League 1 Final A spot after victory over Jeju

Incheon United has secured a place in the K League 1 Final A after a 3-1 victory against Jeju United in the final match of the regular season. The win allows Incheon to leapfrog Jeju in the standings, finishing in 6th place with 46 points. Although both teams finished with the same number of points, Incheon took the spot due to a superior goal difference (43 goals compared to Jeju's 39).

Incheon's goals were scored by Lee Myung-joo, Lee Dong-ryul, and Lee Chung-yong. The match was a dramatic turnaround; after Lee Myung-joo opened the scoring in the 59th minute, Jeju's Negueba equalized via a free kick. However, Lee Dong-ryul scored the decisive goal in the 81st minute, and Lee Chung-yong added a final goal during stoppage time.

This achievement is particularly notable as Incheon is a newly promoted team this season, having returned to the top flight after winning the K League 2 last year. They become only the ninth team in league history to qualify for Final A in their first season following promotion. Incheon will now compete against FC Seoul, Ulsan HD, Daejeon Hana Citizen, Jeonbuk Hyundai, and Gangwon FC for a chance to qualify for the AFC Champions League.
