Incheon Youth Future Center launches family support programs
The Incheon Youth Future Center, an affiliate of the Incheon Social Service Agency, is conducting specialized educational programs for families of isolated and reclusive youth. The initiative focuses on strengthening family response capabilities and restoring relationships through empathy and communication.
The current program, themed ‘Connecting Hearts Through Empathy,’ involves sessions led by instructor Kang Won-hwa from the non-profit organization Gonggam-in. Participants engage in activities such as maintaining ‘mind notebooks’ to track emotional states and practicing empathetic dialogue techniques.
Many participants have returned for subsequent sessions, seeking to improve long-term family dynamics. The center also facilitates self-help groups where parents can share experiences and provide emotional support to one another. Future plans include additional parent education sessions and family healing trips to support emotional recovery.
