Inclusion projects for neurodivergent youth debut in Calabria and Sicily
The second edition of “La Fattoria dei Sorrisi” was held at the Fattoria 4 Stelle in Celico, Calabria. The initiative, organized by the Associazione Jole Santelli, brought together nine neuro‑divergent youngsters and their siblings for farm‑based activities such as egg‑collecting, pasta‑making and dairy production. Paola Santelli, president of the association, said the project aims to give siblings a place to connect and develop care skills, while regional welfare assessor Pasqualina Straface highlighted its role in fostering inclusion.
In a separate effort, the association Smile launched the second episode of its “Fai un giro con noi” series in the towns of Scicli and Ispica, Sicily. Partnering with APS Sport, video editor Clara Falletta and the Archaeological Park of Kamarina, the project let young participants explore the San Nicola rock‑chapel in the Cava d’Ispica, creating a narrative that links heritage with inclusive education. Dr. Assunta Adamo was thanked for supporting the educational approach that encourages dialogue with the region’s cultural roots.
